- Soft Washing
Soft washing is the use of water-based, biodegradable chemicals to break down dirt and grime, remove bug nests and webs, kill mold, mildew, algae and bacteria – leaving the surface clean and sanitized.
Soft washing uses just one-third of the water that pressure or power washing does, lasts 4 - 6 times longer, and doesn't erode or harm the surface like pressure washing often can. Soft washing also does a lot more than power washing because it does more than just clean your roof. The products used in the SoftWash System don't simply clean; they penetrate, sterilize, and eliminate the root of the issue.
Treating your roof with soft washing is more like insect control – the mix of safe, biodegradable chemicals make sure that the microorganisms that cause buildup are not just partly swept away, but eradicated entirely.
Roof Cleaning and More
Soft washing can be performed on a plethora of surfaces where algae and bacteria grow. The same bacterium that causes black streaks on roofs can also grow on:
- Vinyl Siding
- And more…
If you're searching for a way eliminate what's cultivating on the surface of your roof, deck or fence, break the cycle of bothersome pressure washing and use a solution that can get rid of the issue 100%.
Biodegradable, Environmentally Friendly Chemicals in SoftWash
Oftentimes, people are afraid of the word "chemicals," however it's actually not such a dirty word. In truth, everything is a chemical, even water (hydrogen dioxide).
The chemicals used in soft washing aid in the break down of pollutants and infestations, so they can be easily rinsed away. They do all the work without all the pressure. Our chemicals are water based, ship non-hazardous, and are biodegradable, meaning they break down into carbon and water within twenty (20) days after their introduction into the environment; leaving no contaminants behind.
4 Main Reasons to Use Soft Washing
There are a lot of reasons to choose soft washing over pressure or power washing, but here are our biggest reasons:
- Alternative to pressure washing
Pressure washing creates erosion and strips away materials that might have been loosened by decomposition or aging. It may be suitable for some tasks and not others.
- It actually treats the infestation
Your home or business isn't only dirty – it's contaminated. Typical pressure washing only gets rid of the outer layer of this biomass and does not solve the root of the issue, leaving your surface susceptible again not long after pressure washing is completed.
- No damage from pressure
Poorly trained or unskilled power washers can cause serious damage to a roof or other surfaces, especially if it's older to begin with.
- More eco-friendly cleaning option
Pressure washers utilize from 3 to 8 gallons of water per minute (gpm). In one hour of washing a power washer can use from 180 gallons upwards to 480 gallons of water. Alternatively, soft washing just uses approximately 60 gallons of cleaning solution, which consists of about 40 gallons of water.
The cleaning solution is so effective that it lasts 4 – 6 times longer than power washing, making it more sustainable for the environment and your wallet.
